Lebanon arrests three for spying for Israel

Lebanon has arrested three more people on charges of spying for , bringing to ten the number of suspected spies it has arrested since January.

A Lebanese has declared that the suspects have been arrested in the village of Habboush in central south Lebanon, reported.

“Initial indication shows that they were spying for ,” the official added.

On April 25, two Lebanese men and a Palestinian were also arrested in Lebanon on suspicion of spying for . The three were later linked to a retired officer who had earlier that month been arrested on charges.

Former Adib al-Aalam was arrested along with his wife Hayat Saloumi and nephew Joseph Al-Aalam in April.

The three are accused of informing about Lebanese and Syrian military and civilian sites “with the aim of facilitating Israeli attacks.”

Marwan Fakih, another suspect was arrested in southern Lebanon in February.
